Four Yeats Songs (1966/67)

  1. The Sorrow of Love
  2. A Coat
  3. To a Child Dancing in the Wind
  4. The Cold Heaven

These songs were originally written for voice and piano, but when they were submitted to the BBC New Music committee for acceptance for broadcast, it was suggested that they would more likely get a performance if they were orchestrated.

Orchestra:

Two flutes (and piccolo), two clarinets, two bassoons, two horns, two trumpets, two trombones (tenor and bass), timpani, percussion, harp, strings.
